Assistech simplifies online shopping

Tucson, AZ 01/22/07 - Typically, online shoppers have to go through pages and pages of product information until they find (or don’t find) what they’re looking for. This process can be time-consuming, confusing and at times frustrating for the customer. Product information is not always clear, the customer may be in a hurry, and some web pages may take “forever” to download due to excessive graphics.

With this in mind, Assistech™ –a local retail/online company specializing in assistive technologies for hearing and visual loss–developed a new service called Wizard-Assist™ which can be accessed on specific pages of their website.

Wizard-Assist™ combines the company’s shopping cart with the power and versatility of a proprietary script, allowing Web visitors to find products in the shortest amount of time. Wizard-Assist™ enables shoppers to choose the product features that they want by using checkboxes and drop-down menus. Technicalities–such as the difference between “photoelectric” and “ionization” smoke detectors–are explained in fast-loading pop-up windows or balloons.

Once the web form is completed, the user simply presses a button to set the Wizard in motion. The Wizard finds the closest match (or matches) for that product by displaying the product name, image and price, linking directly to Assistech’s shopping cart for more details. The whole process takes no longer than 1 to 3 minutes! If no match is found, shoppers are directed to vary their search criteria or call the company’s customer support line.
